Rowgate connects your company’s database to the AI assistants your team already uses, such as Claude, ChatGPT and Gemini. Each person asks in plain language and gets an answer already filtered by what their profile can see.
How it works
- The administrator connects the database. Supabase, PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, Snowflake or Databricks. Rowgate reads the structure (schemas, tables and columns) and doesn’t copy any data.
- The administrator chooses what the AI can see. First the source’s exposed tables; then, in each access profile, the allowed tables, the hidden columns and the rules that limit rows.
- The team connects their AI. Each person adds the Rowgate connector to their assistant and signs in with their own account.
- The person asks. The assistant requests the data from Rowgate, which builds the query using only what the profile allows, runs it on the database in read-only mode and returns the result.
The AI doesn’t write SQL against your database. It asks for “records from table X with these filters”, and Rowgate decides what can and can’t be queried. The profile’s rules apply to every query, without relying on the AI to “behave”.
Who does what
- Administrator: connects databases, creates profiles, invites people, monitors the audit log and manages the plan. Sees every screen in the panel.
- Employee: only sees the Connect your AI screen, where they add the connector and check which tables they can query. Data reaches them through the AI assistant, never through the panel.
What Rowgate stores
Rowgate stores the configuration (data sources, profiles, people) and the audit record of every question. Your database content stays in your database: queries run at the moment of the question, and the result goes to the assistant that asked for it. Learn more in Security and privacy.
